You are more important than your work.

In today's day and age, working takes a strong hold on the front of our existence. Our jobs take over our happiness and trying to balance a social life on top of anything feels more impossible than ever. We go to work to afford to live so we can go back to work. We put our jobs over our loved ones, finances over our well-being and it all becomes this vicious cycle of unhappiness that no one can understand. But what happens when you're gone? Your job most likely won't remember you or the work you've put in but your family, your body and your mental health will forever be scarred by all the times you neglected to notice them.
Every day, I try to stop and ask myself, "Have you done something today to make yourself happy?" Sometimes it's as simple as making my favorite breakfast or giving myself time to check out to enjoy my cup of coffee. Doing this helps me remember, I am important. I am just as important as anyone I've ever worked for and to sell myself short of happiness so I can provide someone else with a quality employee is something I don't resonate with.
It's time to take your existence into your own hands and do something that makes you happy, even if that means quitting your job. You are more important than your work.
Take a day off, go on a vacation, put your feet up and take a nap in the middle of the day. Stop letting society make you feel lazy for giving your mind what it needs. Take that "go, go, go" mentality and chuck it out the window because if we were meant to run 24/7, we wouldn't need sleep and naps wouldn't be a concept.
